Calling all beach lovers! Summer’s not over, and there are still plenty of activities to enjoy at Casa Condominiums before the cold weather kicks in. One popular activity that people all over can enjoy: building sandcastles. This vintage summer pasttime has been a family favorite for generations, and has even led to the development of festivals such as Sandfest.

Just take a look at this sandcastle made by Landon:

Landon is 9 years old and in 4th grade. Landon was recently a guest here at Casa on the Beach, and was able to construct this fascinating palace and dragon based off Puff the Magic Dragon. He even collected seashells to add some menacing teeth to the dragon protecting his castle!

Don’t quite have the skills to design and create a structure of your own? No problem. Port Aransas has a couple of great guys who can help! Mark Landrum has been conducting sand castle lessons for many years throughout the Coastal Bend area. Chris Cooper is another popular artist who enjoys teaching others the art of sand sculpture. Give one of these guys a call; they can teach any age and are masters of their craft.

Summer won’t last forever (unfortunately), and Port Aransas beaches are clean and ready for some unique sand architecture. Get that pre-sandcastle building workout in while the water is still warm! Sandfest 2016 is just around the corner, and people like Landon are getting ready for that amateur contest! Don’t be blindsided and make sure to book your reservations early for the event. We all enjoy playing in the sand, but nobody wants to sleep in it! Call our front desk staff or book online for your next vacation. Casa on the Beach is your home away from home!
